Goodluck Okonoboh

HoopHall Classic 2014 (Springfield, MA): He continued to showcase elite shot blocking, in terms of athleticism and timing. Terrific patience and timing defending one-on-one, and terrific help defender. Probably the best shot blocker in the class. Offensive game is still a major work in progress, but Okonoboh’s explosiveness and defensive ability make him a threat on every possession.

Elite 24 Showcase 2013 (New York, NY)

Observation 13: Yes, Goodluck Okonoboh is an excellent shot blocker. But he has serious pick-and-roll potential as well.

Okonoboh is known for his defense, and rightfully so. But with his quickness and explosiveness, his pick-and-roll potential is special.

He has quick feet and good bounce, making him a potentially dynamic screener. Okonoboh can catch lobs and also knock down jumpers. Goodluck’s pick-and-roll potential is just a thought, but I think it could be a real factor if conscientiously developed. Everyone notes his defensive abilities, but it’s too early to pigeonhole him as simply a one-way player.
