Big Strick Classic 2013 (New York, NY): In my opinion, Ahmed Hill is the most underrated point guard in the county. If he’s playing in the right system—where the coach will give him the keys to the offense, and let him grow as a point guard—he could make wavs as a freshman. He has everything you want in a basketball player: immense talent, great size for his position, an extremely high basketball IQ, toughness, and the ability to get everyone else better.
He can play both guard positions, but if I were a coach, I’d give Hill the keys to the offense and let him operate. He sees the floor extremely well, can get into the paint and finish at the rim, and he competes hard on every possession. Hill rarely commits turnovers, can handle the ball against pressure and is a dynamic playmaker. He can penetrate the defense and use his athleticism to finish over bigger players. He can pull-up for a jump shot from 2-point range. And he has a developing 3-point shot. I’ve seen all the top point guards in the class of 2014, and in my opinion, Hill can compete with every one of them. I’m a huge fan.
