Nike Peach Jam 2013 (North Augusta, SC): Cheatham has a dominating aura to his game, mostly due to his great athleticism and mobility in the open court. He runs the floor with great feel and pace, able to handle the ball or set teammates up for a finish. On one possession at the Peach Jam, he pinned a shot against the backboard on one end, then with a few gazelle-like strides down the court, finished at the rim on the other end. He’s a point forward whose game is predicated on length and athleticism.

Going forward, Cheatham needs to learn how to play in the half court. Specifically, developing a handle and creating his own shot. He’s been spoiled playing with Parker Jackson-Cartwright, because PJC makes everything so much easier on offense. Cheatham has great defensive ability, but he’ll need to develop an offensive arsenal to earn minutes in college. If he can get a consistent jump shot, he has NBA upside for sure.
