HoopHall Classic 2014 (Springfield, MA): Abu scored 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in a losing effort. Still, he showcased the physicality, athleticism, and bruising style of play which made him such a highly coveted recruit this summer. He can bang on both ends of the floor, and has the touch and strength to finish through contact in the paint.

Nike Global Challenge 2013 (Washington D.C.): Once again, Abu dominated his position at the Global Challenge. Even while fasting in observance of Ramadan, Abu posted lines of 20 points/8 rebounds, 16 points/6 rebounds, and 22 points/5 rebounds. He finishes through contact in the paint, and has the footwork and quickness to develop a face up game. Right now, he’s a bully in the paint, with great mobility in transition. When Abu is locked in, he’s one of the most complete players in the country.

Nike Peach Jam 2013 (North Augusta, SC): Abu may have the best motor in the class. He’s embodies the “inside-outside player” in high school. He embraces banging down low in the paint, and has a feathery touch and quick feet to have a dominating face up game. He has strong hands, is a bully, and can get out and run on the fast break. Abu’s physicality is reminiscent of a young Kenneth Faried.
